I have been in the meat cutting business since I was 10 years old. My dad started processing local beef in our small plant in 1976 and I worked there for him until 1989. Because dad’s processing plant was just a seasonal business and I had a growing family, I needed a year-round income. This forced me to seek work outside the family business so I went to work in the meat department at a local grocery store. I always knew that eventually I would return to run the family business and in 1998, I came back to work with dad for a year before he retired. In 1999 I took over the reins and with the help of my mother, my two children and the support of my wife, began to run the family business. Both of our children now have families of their own and full time jobs but both still help out during my busiest time. We have been a state inspected plant for over 30 years cutting beef, hogs, deer, wild hogs, elk, bear, ostrich, emus, caribou & buffalo.
